Real Name: the Vision
Alter Ego: the Vision
Character's Journal: http://vision-ya.livejournal.com/
Character's Background: The Vision was destroyed and then brought back by a young, time-traveling Kang the Conqueror, known at the time as Iron Lad. When Iron Lad returned to the future so as to not mangle the timeline, he left his armor to the Vision. After some study, Tony Stark (Iron Man) concluded that while this new Vision had all of the physical and emotional capabilities of the old Vision, he had none of the memories or experience, making him yet another superpowered "kid". His brain patterns are based on Iron Lad's, but he is not Iron Lad, to the slight disappointment of the rest of his teammates. The Vision has done research into his past and is doing his best to avoid some of the problems encountered by the past Vision by setting up fail-safes. He chafes under his forced inactivity and was exceedingly important in rescuing and recruiting Tommy to help save Teddy. Due to his connection with Iron Lad, he has a crush on Cassie/Stature, but since he can't be Iron Lad for her, has altered his appearance to closer to the original Vision.
Character's Personality: Calm, quiet, collected and a little unsure of his place on the team yet. Wants to prove that he can be trusted to the Avengers, but is a Young Avenger first.
Affiliation: Young Avengers
A sample of your writing involving the character you are applying for (2-5 paragraphs, please):

The Vision went intangible to avoid the blast. One would think that people would learn that explosions really didn't bother him that much.

Or perhaps he had thought wrongly, Vision mused as the baddie dove through the smoke. Perhaps he was counting on Vision being intangible - a wraith couldn't be blocking the doorway after all.

Such a shame that Vision wasn't a wraith.

The baddie groaned and collapsed, losing consciousness. Vision knelt and peeled back an eyelid to see if the man had given himself a concussion, diving directly into solid metal like that.

"Vision?" came Stature's voice through the smoke. Vision ducked his head slightly to hide a grin.

"[I am uninjured.]" he assured her. "[And our villain isn't going anywhere for awhile.]"

"What happened?" Tommy asked, appearing next to him. The speedster still needed a codename, but so did Kate or else she was going to be stuck with Hawkingbird.

The Vision did a quick head-count as the rest of the Young Avengers assembled around him. Not that it was difficult or anything, there was only half a dozen of them and Stature was normal-sized and not bleeding or injured in any way besides some bruises from trying to catch Patriot. She flashed Vision an small, triumphant grin and Vision resisted the suddenly overwhelming urge to do a victory dance.

Victory dances were not proper Young Avenger behavior.
